Brief History of Archery
Archery is a sport that has been practiced for millennia, and its purpose has varied over time. The equipment that was mostly utilized for hunting and combat in the past is now predominantly used for recreational purposes. The sport was new when it was introduced in the Olympic games in 1900, and it had exited and re-entered the Olympics due to differences in its rules. Beginning in 2012, the advent of the Hunger Games film franchise sparked a surge in interest in archery.
About Combat Archery Tag
Combat archery tag, as the name implies, is a game similar to dodgeball in which the goal is to tag your opponents. It is no surprise that they appreciate the game, since many event planners have begun to provide the sport for team-building activities in order to meet the demand. Although it may sound deadly, combat archery tag is nothing like combat. For starters, the arrows used are foam-tipped and would be unlikely to cause an open wound. Face masks and protective equipment are also provided to avoid injury and reduce the likelihood of an accident.
Types of Games
1. The Revival
Eliminate as many opponents as possible while keeping your teammates safe. After getting tagged, exit the pitch and request that your teammates resuscitate you. To resurrect your teammate, shoot a foam circle out of the foam board in the centre. However, both teams' foam boards will be placed in close proximity, putting the medic at risk of being tagged. So before you begin the game, plan out your strategy for victory. It may be a good idea for weak aimers to prioritize dodging the arrows that come your way.
2. The Last King
Designate one team member as the King, whose job is to get the foam circles back into the team's board. Except for the king, everyone will be carrying a bow. Instead, he or she will have three lives in the game, while every other member has one. Each team will have 5 foam circles placed in their home base, and teams are not permitted to take the foam circles of other teams. The team that first fills up the board or eliminates the opponent's King wins! Keep an eye out for your adversaries and defend your King at all costs.
3. Mission Impossible
Prepare to become James Bond as you embark on a quest to solve a crossword puzzle or unlock a padlock. To win this game, your team must decipher the code by going around the field looking for the numbers/hints sprinkled everywhere. Everyone must put their heads in the game in order to figure out the answer as a group, all while remaining vulnerable to the opponent's arrow. Create a strategy for protecting the members solving the challenge or risk losing the game!
Archery Tag as the Best Team Building Game
1. Ice-breaking
Get away from all of the seriousness and just be yourself while having fun! Shoot as many people as you can - after all, that is the goal of the game. No one will hold it against you as long as you maintain the spirit of sportsmanship. Use the chance to start a dialogue as you apologise for shooting each other. It could be with someone you've been avoiding for a long time, or it could even be with your boss!
2. Teamwork
As simple as it may appear, there is no "I" in "Teamwork." To emerge as winners, you will need to open that golden mouth of yours and discuss winning methods. Sharing your skills and weaknesses can also benefit your team because individuals will be placed with the more appropriate role. Make sure to alert your teammate to any approaching arrows from your opponents, or your team will be wiped out quickly!
